ASP - Abita Springs Pottery Louisiana artist, John Preble created art pottery in the mid 1970's in Abita Springs, Louisiana. Here are a few photos of the work. A display of wares are on exhibit at the UCM Museum in Abita Springs. Collectors associate this work with that of Walter Anderson, Shearwater, Newcomb, George Ohr, Roseville, and Rockwood Pottery. Pieces on this page rage from 5" to 11" tall. At a 2004 auction sponsored by the American Art Pottery Association, a 8" ASP vase sold for $450. A photo of the piece is on their web site. |
