Bobby Lounge
Bobby enjoys writing songs about the south and about people with robust
lifestyles. He chooses to avoid the limelight when not performing on
stage. However, on stage, Bobby is a energetic entertainer in the tradition
of Little Richard, Bobby Marchand, and Jerry Lee Lewis. His song writing
style has been described as "Randy Newman with bite." Some
songs are not appropriate for children.
Tinkertown
Ross and Carla Ward's truly fantastic museum near Albuquerque, New Mexico,
was our inspiration to open the Abita Mystery House. Their museum is a
great statement by true artists. I wish I had thought of their
slogan is "We did all of this while you were watching TV." Many
of the UCM exhibits are inspired by Ross Ward's work. The Abita Mystery House has been described as a Southern version of Tinkertown.
If you are in the area, stop in and tell them hello from me. Check
out their web site. The UCM would not exist had I not met Ross Ward.

For over the past 100 years, travelers and tourists have enjoyed their
visits to the New Orleans Northshore area. Whether boating on Lake Ponchartrain,

riding in Abita Springs, or boating and fishing in Madisonville, or
enjoying our excellent B&B's, there are enjoyable events for tourists
year around. Our wonderful climate, coupled with clear spring fed creeks
and rivers, tall pine trees, and century old live oak trees, provide

Abita Springs Area Sites
Abita used to be a popular tourist spot 100 years ago. When the
first settlers came here, there were about 25 Indian families living
in Abita Springs. Here are links to the other things to do in town and
the surrounding communities.

they mean it as a complement.
Music Links
Many of the exhibits at the UCM are augmented by music. Here are some
of our favorite links to a rich assortment of music sites.
U. S. Highway 90
The Southern Route 66 went from the Atlantic Ocean at Jacksonville,
Florida to the lonely town of Van Horn in west Texas. Here's some vintage
postcards that commemorate this wonderful road. From the page showing
our Louisiana postcards you can jump to the other Southern states.
Drive the Old Spanish Trail
Drive the Old Spanish Trail is dedicated to the identification, interpretation,
and preservation of the old road and its historic roadside resources,
as well as to the appreciation of its contemporary reality — the
real road.

Abita
Springs Opry
A very popular presentation of Louisiana roots music in the Abita Town
Hall across the ball field from the UCM. This is the music show that
has replaced the old Piney Woods Opry. Highly recommended. NOTE:
If you want a good seat - get there an hour early and order a plate
lunch. Prices are reasonable and the food is usually very good.
