Louisiana
artist, John Preble created art pottery in the mid 1970's in Abita
Springs, Louisiana. Here are a few photos of the work. Collectors
associate this work with that of Walter Anderson, Shearwater, Newcomb,
George Ohr, Roseville, and Rockwood Pottery. Pieces on this page rage
from 5" to 12" tall and was created using local clay. Original
molds made by Preble were used to create many of the pieces. Preble
also worked with local potter John Hodge on some of this work. This
pottery is on exhibit at the UCM Museum in Abita Springs. The Pottery
is also in numerous private and public collections.
